Description: The 21st Academy of Colloquium – the central professional meeting of the Lifelong Learning Project (LLL) project 2017 in Slovenia was intended to reflect on the role of non-formal adult education in contemporary conditions, which are constantly changing.
The challenges, activities and experiences of non-formal education at the local level were presented. Successful examples from different Slovenian regions, study circles, informal training and national vocational qualifications, Project Learning for Young Adults and Urban Garden were presented. The discussion also focused on the possibilities of providing the development of basic and other skills to low-skilled adults and other vulnerable target groups of the population. The events also addressed the issues of employability and integration into the learning community. In both cases, non-formal education can make a significant contribution to the acquisition of appropriate skills, while adult education providers (folk universities and others) take on the role of a driving and connecting force.
