Basic skills and competences of the employed – messages from employers to policy-makers and professionals

Organisers:  Adult Education Centre Velenje and Slovenian Institute for Adult Education (SIAE)
Time: 26 June 2017
Location: Velenje, Slovenia
Event type: PAS event
Language: Slovenian
Manifesto topic: Active citizenship, democracy & participation
Target audience: Employed adults
Description: Some findings from the event: Strategic partnerships of all stakeholders (policy-makers, economy, educators, public sector, non-governmental sector) are essential for the development of human resources and the economy. All employers state to politicians and professionals to help them train their staff to be able to manage robots (not just basic courses in robotics and automation). Educational content should be adapted to the needs of knowledge for advanced work.

The economy needs human resources that are willing to learn. The basic competencies and the development of personal characteristics (soft skills) are more important than professional competencies.
