Description: ‘Learning Parade – Days of learning communities’ is a new approach in and an enrichment of the Slovenian Lifelong Learning Week (LLW) made possible through the ‘Implementation of the renewed EAAL in Slovenia’ project. The Learning Parade (LP) – a series of one-day festival and professional events – has taken place in LLW 2013, 2014, 2015 and 2016. In 2017 it was held on fourteen places across the country.
Learning Parades are concentrated events in the centres of urban and other communities. There are knowledge and skills providers and demand for both. A lively pulse, colourfulness, plenty of curiosity, pride, hope … all this can be experienced in the society of advocates and practitioners of the lifelong learning culture.
The aforementioned slogan The Power and Joy of Learning (translated in Slovenian: “Moč in radost učenja”) has connected us with the European Association for the Education of Adults (EAEA). In the beginning of February the Association declared 2017 the Year of Adult Education in Europe and invited its members from all over Europe to fit the events into our shared events calendar. The conceptual background of this wide campaign are messages from the Manifesto for Adult Learning in the 21st Century.
